the dresses
This is my closet.
Call me superstitious, but, it just doesn't feel right to play a show if I'm not wearing one of my own designs.
Most of my tours have a theme that I work with, both conceptually and visually.
These collections are represented here, and will be updated with every show that I play.

Family Album release show (10)
On February 25th, 2011, many members of my inner circle came together to celebrate the project that took us three years to create. We played the album live from top to bottom at The Family Wash in Nashville, TN. It was a wonderful night! -
Pizza Dream Tour (18)
The Pizza Dream concept was born out of a song of mine, in which I outline what I am willing to sacrifice in order to be happy and creatively free. Appropriately, the frocks are made mostly of vintage tablecloths, hand towels and aprons. The occasional handkerchief also makes a guest appearance. -
Lyons, Tigers and Dares Tour (13)
I flew South to my home state of Florida for a short string of shows, and decided that it would be the perfect time to reference The Wizard of Oz. Every dress has an animal print, as well as a jewel color assigned to it. I dyed more than half of the fabrics, as there seemed to be a shortage of light blue giraffe and mint green zebra prints in the market. -
Reclamation Tour (23)
I hadn't played live in a very long time before I embarked on this East coast tour. When I was finally ready, I borrowed some strength from the lyrics to 'Reclamation' by Fugazi. The dresses are all made from leftover fabrics. I used bits of old sheets, curtains, handkerchiefs, jeans and assorted other scraps. Inside the waistband of each dress, reads a line from the song. There were eleven, in total. The shows and the garments were true victories for me.
