    happy November!

    Hey dudes!

How about the fact that it's already THE HOLIDAYS? Not sure where I've been, but this season has totally snuck up on me. I guess I've been busy making stuff, which is never a bad thing.

This year has been one of total dedication to Friendship Commanders, which is why I've been so quiet on the solo front. There's not a lot of solo action these days. . . none, really. I write the occasional song that gets filed away for a rainy day, but the majority of my time, energy, and music goes to the band now. I have to say, I couldn't be happier.

FC toured this year, we wrote and demo'd a full-length album that we'll record this winter (!), and we released some music, too. We joined forces with Cassette Store Day and released our first three-sided-single, "TSS001." It's only available on cassette, of which there are one-hundred and fifty copies. Total. Each cassette does come with a free digital download of the songs, but the release isn't available digitally on its own. We wanted make something that was actually limited, in this unlimited world of ours. It was released on CSD, which was September 27th. Order a copy today, and give someone a really loud stocking stuffer!

After that, we released our second annual Halloween single last month. This time around we covered "Them Bones" by Alice in Chains. The proceeds from our single all go to aid addiction research in memory of Layne Staley. We just made our first donation yesterday; it felt great.

We have January set aside for making the record, and I'll be sure to post about it when there's news. Until then, we have new t-shirts and pins, and stuff for you to listen to. Hope to see you at an FC show in 2015!

    Thanks for checking in.

    long overdue update

Buick Audra here. Hello, hello, hello. I hope that this finds you all well.

It took me a while, but I finally overhauled this site. All other projects have been moved over to the fancy new Trimming The Shield Records site! Go check her out when you get a minute. When you're there, visit Boey Russell's pages. His debut full-length album was released on TTS on January 14th. I co-produced and engineered the record, and I'm crazy proud of it.

Boey and I released a single together in December called "Genevieve." It's kind of unreal, but it's actually the first song that he and I have ever really written together - after almost twenty years of collaborating. It was nice to come together for that one song in that way.

TTS will have some new kinds of releases this year. We have a new single series on the way that I think you'll dig. We're psyched to have somenew artists involved.

I've been very happily focusing time and energy on Friendship Commanders for the past several months. As I've posted here before, we released a cover the Ramones' "Pet Sematary" for Halloween last year. All proceeds went to the Hazelden Foundation toward addiction research in Dee Dee Ramone's name. Since then, we've become an official three-piece! Cody McCall started playing with us in October, and we sealed the deal about a month later. He's great and fun and we're all stoked as hell. We've been playing locally quite a bit, and are working on booking short weekend runs to drivable cities like Atlanta, Savannah, Chattanooga, etc. We have a pile of new songs that we're planning on putting on a full-length album this year, too.

Other than that... I tracked and edited the vocals for a project called Mourn, which is a collaboration between two artists, Jay Weinberg and Sarah Saturday. Pretty cool stuff. I think the EP came out in Novemeber. Check it out!

I'm sure other things have happened, but that's the nutshell. I hope you'll make it out to an FC show, and if you live too far, we've got more music coming to you soon!

    Thanks, pals.

TTS Records now has its own site!

Hey dudes, Buick Audra here. There is finally a proper home for Trimming The Shield Records and all of its releases, including mine. Go check it out! And while you're there, check out the new artist on the block, Boey Russell. His self-titled album comes on January 14th! We're all stoked about it and hope you are, too.

I'll be re-working this website in coming weeks and removing all of the pages for Friendship Commanders, 33 Slade, Dulce and They Rule - but, they're all amply represented on the TTS site.

Thanks for visiting, and stay warm.

Merry Christmas Eve, pals! This is a song that my brother and I wrote and recorded in our great-grandparents' house in August. It's a free download for you - though, should you choose to pay any money for it, all funds will benefit research for Retinitis Pigmentosa.

That pretty lady on the cover is our grandmother, Janellen Huebsch. It makes me so happy to see her beautiful face out in the world in 2013. Happy holidays.

a Halloween single for a good cause!

    Hey pals,

Friendship Commanders have done a cover of the Ramones' classic song, "Pet Sematary," which was released last week. Because what's cooler than Halloween, Stephen King and the Ramones? Nothing.
The release is also a fundraiser for addiction research. You can pay anything you want for the single, from a dollar up, and all of the proceeds will be donated to the Hazelden Foundation in Dee Dee Ramone's name. Dee Dee tried to achieve for sobriety for more than thirty years of his life, and FC have chosen to honor him in this way. Buy the song here!
